Recently researchers at the University of California at Berkeley announced that according to their studies

93% of all information created during 1999, the last year for which they had complete information, was generated in digital form, on computers of some sort.

That means that only 7% was generated using other media, like paper, phonograph records, clay tablets or smoke signals.
